What does 'Model Evaluation' mean?
Testing a trained machine learning model against data it has not seen, to judge how well it will perform in production. Which measures matter depends on the task, with accuracy, precision and recall, F1, AUC, or error rates all in common use, alongside checks for bias across groups. Evaluation is also how candidate models and versions get compared before one is promoted.
