What is Cloud Tiering?
What does 'Cloud Tiering' mean?
Cloud tiering automatically moves data between local storage and cloud object storage based on how recently or often it is accessed. Cold or inactive files are relocated to lower-cost cloud tiers while active data stays on-premises, and a stub or pointer keeps the file visible in its original location.
