What does 'Attachment Sandboxing' mean?
Files arriving by email are opened and executed inside an isolated environment before delivery, where their behaviour is watched for signs of malicious activity such as dropping files, altering the registry, or contacting external servers. Because it observes what an attachment does rather than matching it against known signatures, sandboxing can catch previously unseen malware. Suspicious files are blocked or stripped; safe ones are released to the recipient.
