Preparation of an entity's statutory year-end financial statements, taking a trial balance and producing the balance sheet, profit and loss account, notes, and directors' report in the format the local regime requires. Software handles the disclosure templates, formatting rules, and, in many jurisdictions, electronic filing with the company registry and tax authority. It is mainly used by accounting practices producing accounts on behalf of client companies.
