Enterprise Browser Software overview

Editor's Summary · Enterprise Browser Software
Enterprise browser vendors split three ways, and the split matters more than the feature lists. Island, Prisma Browser and Mammoth Cyber ship a dedicated browser — deepest control, but you are asking every employee to change the tool they use all day. Seraphic, LayerX and Red Access secure whatever browser people already run, as an extension or agentlessly, which is a far easier rollout and correspondingly less absolute. Menlo Security, Puffin and Authentic8 Silo use isolation, rendering risky pages away from the device entirely.
The reason this category grew separately from secure web gateways is AI. A gateway cannot see what an employee pastes into a ChatGPT prompt or an AI sidebar; a browser can. If GenAI data leakage is your driver, that determines your shortlist more than anything else here.
This category was published recently and most listings do not carry verified reviews yet.
Quick picks for Enterprise Browser Software
- Best dedicated browser — Island
- Best without changing browsers — Seraphic
- Lowest cost entry — Chrome Enterprise, free tier
Who gets the most from Enterprise Browser Software
- 1Security teams giving contractors access without shipping laptops or standing up VDI
- 2IT leaders who need employees to use AI tools without leaking data into prompts
- 3CISOs replacing VPN and VDI for third-party and unmanaged device access
How to choose Enterprise Browser Software
If your driver is contractors and BYOD without VDI, a dedicated browser gives the most control. If rollout friction is the constraint, choose an extension or agentless approach that secures the browsers people already use. If the concern is malware from high-risk sites rather than data leaving via SaaS, remote isolation is the cheaper answer. Check prompt-level AI controls specifically — site blocking is not the same as inspecting what is typed.

Learn More About Enterprise Browser Software
Compare 20 enterprise browser platforms that apply DLP, AI usage policy and extension control inside the browser. Features, pricing and deployment models.
Enterprise browser software puts security controls inside the browser itself — data loss prevention, extension governance, AI usage policy and session forensics — rather than inspecting traffic from the network. The category exists because work moved into SaaS and the browser became the real endpoint: a secure web gateway cannot see what a user pastes into an AI prompt or copies out of a SaaS record, but a browser can.
- Whether it replaces the browser, secures the existing one, or isolates pages remotely?
- Depth of generative AI controls — prompt-level DLP versus simple site blocking?
- Whether unmanaged and BYOD devices are supported without agents or admin rights?
