Zabbix - Multi-Platform Monitoring Tool

What do you like best? Zabbix has proven itself to be a highly effective and flexible monitoring tool. We utilise the flexibility of the system as we do not only monitor Server Tolerances, Services & Network Utilisation. We also monitor less common things like Hot Folders and also our VPN users. What do you dislike? Customizability. If all of your servers are very similar then this might not effect you. Now, if all of your servers are virtually identical, you may not experience this ...

Great monitoring platform

What do you like best? Simple to setup and easy to manage solution. Very little in-depth tech skills needed to deploy initially and raft of templates available for free online to make it an essential monitoring tool for any business. What do you dislike? Support, if you want it - looked to be costly if you simply want light email only assistance on your setup. Recommendations to others considering the product A little linux knowledge is recommended, but not hard to pick up. The online ...

Not bad, if you will work on it

What do you like best? Zabbix is extremely flexible while having a good architecture for reducing repeating yourself. It has a lot of information available and the ability to customize how you see it. Its support of ipv6 was critical to my decision making as I don't want to have to switch monitoring tools later. I also enjoy changing the interface, as it is relatively easy even if it is via PHP. I suppose I could make a frontend in something else if I really wanted to, as it's all just ...

Access control is confusing, things you don't have access to are hidden so you know don't what you cannot see, the graphing is difficult to use and not as flexible as other solutions. Recommendations to others considering the product Good for someone starting out to get some quick monitoring. What business problems ...

Open Source - Works Fine for Intended Purpose

What do you like best? Useful for monitoring Web Servers and Databases. Indicates high usage, down services, ssl expirations, etc. If you're managing more than 5 VM's at a time it's worth it. You can also hook it up to a GSM module, which is nice. What do you dislike? Nothing as of now. A colleague setup the infrastructure. One should expect customization may be cumbersome as with most open source software. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you ...
