Best budgeting app…hands down.
Love YNAB. I couldn’t live without it at this point. I was an mvelopes user for years. Once that app was discontinued, I tried numerous alternatives and YNAB is head and shoulders above the rest.

Mvelopes convert
Switched when Mvelopes closed. This is way better than Mvelopes in many ways - and only worse than MVelopes in a couple ways. My main complaint is that I want to carry a negative balance on envelopes from one month to the next. I use that to indicate when people owe me money. YNAB doesn't like that. I understand why, but it makes it harder for me to deal with it.

Exactly What I've Wanted
This software does EXACTLY what I've wanted since 2000 in every way! It manages the "envelope" system digitally and sets aside money for credit card transactions as you categorize your items according to your budget!

YNAB presents a clear at-a-glance view…
YNAB presents a clear at-a-glance view of cash flow. It’s allowed me to invest more, keep spending aligned with our values, and easily roll with the financial punches that are inevitable. It takes some time to set up and figure out the approach because YNAB looks forward at spending, not backwards. Once set up it saves SO much time. It also greatly reduces worry because everything is so clear. Lu moved to YNAB 18 months ago and love it!
