OK for the basics but lacks support…
It the main it works well but if you hit an issue the support is poor. Bugs can take a long time to fix and i'm talking years here.The payroll module has a long way to go to be a serious option for anything other than small very basic payrolls.

Some of your processes are longwinded…
Some of your processes are longwinded and the system is sometimes slow (I have fast wifi). Also your subscription charge is too high.

Xero do not care about you - avoid!
I have been with Xero since they started. At first there were real people that you could talk to, that cared, helped, and wanted to make everything right. Then they grew bigger. Their fee's increased dramatically, their customer service dropped, they no longer cared. Would I recommend them? No, not anymore. I had an issue that took 8 months to resolve, I went through their customer service team, and escalated customer service team to no avail. As the service offered wasn’t actually working, ...

Poor overall
Poor support, just redirected to community forums. Basic / poor table filtering and searching on results returned. Poor credit-card logic and handling. Very frustrating expense handling tools and no ability to add fine grain controls on bank accounts to other users.

Great accounting software that does much more than just keep your accounts in order
There's always more you can think of for accounting software to do, but if it isn't already providing a great experience you'll be looking at ways to improve what's already there rather than looking for more.Xero is intuitive and I particularly like the way it is made for business owners or managers rather than accountants. The basic package does everything you'd look for in an accounting package and then there are great reporting tools and compatible add-ons as well.I've used Xero for ...

Highly recommed Xero for small business accounting and bookkeeping
I use Xero as my accounting system for my small and growing business. It integrates really well with some suppliers (Twitter) and my back office system (Insightly). My accountant has access and I use it for invoicing, filing VAT returns and more.I used it from day 1 for my micro business and we've managed to grow with it.
