I have been working with WP Engine for several years now and they beat any other host on the market. Anyone providing less than a 5 star review hasn't worked with another host. Their dashboard and services are easy to use for a technical person as well as a novice. Their pricing is competitive when you compare to other hosts and their nickel and diming services. I have been tasked with migrating a WP site away from that platform that shall not be named to WP-Engine. I have received nothing short of helpful support, helpful documentation, and a decent platform for managing WP sites. I will recommend WP-Engine for most use cases until I find something better (at this point, doesn't seem likely).

At first, everything went well, until the first month, when I started to be harassed by e-mails from a wp engine "account manager". They're desperate to get me on the phone to check up on my account.
