Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Trello's Kanban boards work well for task tracking and team collaboration, but assess your actual needs before committing. The free plan caps you at one Power-Up per board and lacks advanced reporting—if you need burndown charts, custom fields, or detailed workload analytics, you'll hit these limits quickly. The search function doesn't cover archived cards, so ...Read more

Trello pros and cons

  • Excellent tool for task organization with Kanban-style boards, drag-and-drop functionality, and customizable labels.

  • Supports team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and task delegation in remote or shift-based work environments.

  • Supports project tracking with features like checklists, due dates, color-coded alerts, and real-time updates to enhance productivity and clarity.

Great kanban, seamless collaboration, advanced features

What do you like best? There are loads of features with Trello, including the free version. The simplicity of Trello's kanban layout and card options is intuitive. It just works! I also liked the integration with other third party apps. Google Drive was helpful, as within a Trello card, we could have a direct link to a file on GDrive. Likewise, the integration with Slack had some value, as a post to Slack happened whenever a Trello card was updated. What do you dislike? Hard to ...

We completed the user stories and acceptance criteria on this tool. After we prepared our board, it was very easy to manage each sprints of the software development process. What do you dislike? We had to use different boards for Backlog and Sprint Board. This made us work little bit longer and we had to carry the cards manually. I wish ...
