Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Trello's Kanban boards work well for task tracking and team collaboration, but assess your actual needs before committing. The free plan caps you at one Power-Up per board and lacks advanced reporting—if you need burndown charts, custom fields, or detailed workload analytics, you'll hit these limits quickly. The search function doesn't cover archived cards, so ...Read more

Trello pros and cons

  • Easy for new and experienced users to operate with minimal setup time.

  • Excellent tool for task organization with Kanban-style boards, drag-and-drop functionality, and customizable labels.

  • Supports team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and task delegation in remote or shift-based work environments.

  • Supports project tracking with features like checklists, due dates, color-coded alerts, and real-time updates to enhance productivity and clarity.

  • Limited capability for handling large or complex projects due to the lack of advanced features compared to specialized project management tools.

  • Archived tasks and boards are difficult to retrieve or review, causing frustration for long-term task tracking.

"The easiest-to-use, robust PM tool"

What do you like best about Trello? Trello is SO intuitive and easy to use — and is a gold mine of hidden features. What do you dislike about Trello? Trello may not be a fit for huge teams working on many projects with many moving parts at once. Recommendations to others considering Trello: You can set up and get started in a flash. When you have the time for it, explore the automation, cool tools, and varied options you have. You'll be thankful you did. What problems is Trello solving and ...

"Awesome and Easy"

What do you like best about Trello? Trello is as close to a zero ramp-up as you can get. You can log in with your Google login, create a board and take off. All the columns, board names, etc. can be changed later, so there is low stress on label names. What do you dislike about Trello? Cleanup is a bit clunky. Any of the columns can fill quickly. To archive the cards in the columns, it seems to require a one at a time process. This can get cumbersome. Recommendations to others considering ...

"Trello is a great space for workplace announcements"

What do you like best about Trello? I like that there are different cards you can organize based on topic. For example, upcoming field trips is a tag I love. I can easily see all the upcoming field trips and links on the trello card by finding that tab. What do you dislike about Trello? I wish there was a feature to copy over entire columns to a new board instead of copy card by card. I use many shared boards, so this would be a major time saver. What problems is Trello solving and how is ...

"The one tool I've been using for over 5 years of professional activity"

What do you like best about Trello? Trello is straightforward and flexible. It gives you the Kanban "sandbox" to play with, and the board you create can fit your needs no matter the industry you are part of. What do you dislike about Trello? "Handy platform for brainstorming ideas with your team"

What do you like best about Trello? The best feature of the platform according to me are the customized card creation and along with that the option of moving items from one card to other, thus helping in tracking the progress of tasks. What do you dislike about Trello? The sharability becomes a problem as the cards cannot be downloaded or exported as a file, which becomes a hindrance when is comes to presenting ideas to people outside the organization.
