Sync.com hacked, all data exposed. 2FA backdoor used.

There is a backdoor at Sync.com that lets hackers access your account even if it's protected with 2FA, using generated backup codes. New users - stay away. Old users - I advise to delete everything and run! Watch out for notificaiton emails saying backup codes were generated or used.

I am as satisfied Sync user and I won't trade it for other platforms.

PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? What I like about Sync.com is it gives all of their clients the security that they need in transferring files. I have never seen a company that offers high-end data encryption like Sync. Plus, they work with Cloud, so I know that all my data is in great hands. I’ve been testing Dropbox, pCloud, IceDrive, and I ended up on Sync. Sync is not perfect but it’s the only one that made encryption easy and the only one that didn’t fumble or fail at syncing my files. Sync was also the easiest one to use, just put things in a folder, while others seemed overcomplicated in doing the same thing. Phantom File Deleter. So much is good, but the bad is disastrous.

Its the worst syncing app since CTera

Its the worst syncing app since CTera. Cleaned up all folders and files on one PC, turned on second PC - all files and floders are back, plus it generated duplicates. JUST WHAT THE F. Is this so hard to compare dates of moving/removing folders? DONT PAY ANY CENT FOR IT. Its safer to move files with pendrive.

Terrible Service and Support

I have been using this service for my business for 7+ years. This past summer, my files stopped syncing to the cloud. Took 6 weeks before it was back online and then only for a couple of days before it went down again. Have reached out to them again 5 weeks ago. They said they would look into the issue (again) and 5 weeks later, no reply, so I sent a follow-up request on Tuesday...Friday, no response. Now I need to source a new secure cloud storage where all my data stays in country.

The worst tech support of any online IT service ever

Its taken me over a week to resolve a simple syncing issue with our Mac and adding a new user to an existing sync account. Their tech support is virtually non existing and for an IT company this is unheard of. It difficult for a company to operate properly having all their files on a cloud server and NOT getting access to other users and taking over a week to resolve. Just insane. Sync.com can back up your files without worrying about anything at all. Your files are pretty much secured no matter what happens.
