My card reader malfunctioned and I asked for it to be replaced but Sum Up wouldn’t give me another one for free I use it all the time so I am now closing my account and going elsewhere They obviously don’t want to keep their customers

Hi was a member of SumUp for no reason…
Hi was a member of SumUp for no reason after taking payments for a large contract nearly to the sum of £9000 pounds they have permanently closed my account with no explanation and have said the will be holding the money for 6 month in case the customer issues a chargeback it’s nearly put me out of Buisness avoid at all costs

As a sole trader in the construction…
As a sole trader in the construction industry I bought one of their machines to be able to take card payments. They opened up the account but after the first payment they blocked the account for extra security checks and proof of business, after sending them my CIS registration and public liability insurance and a couple of other documents, they denied my account and just deleted my profile without giving a reason. Stay away from them.

Low Quality Card Readers
I've had so much hassle with this company, I would do whatever it takes to ensure others don't make the same mistake of signing up with them. There are so many problems with them, the main one being the poor quality of their machines, something they admit themselves; "Our engineers and designers are working hard to improve the function and durability of our Solo card readers.". If you are considering SumUp, don't. They have poor quality machines and their customer service I think must come ...
