Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Sketch is macOS and iPad only—if your team uses Windows or Linux, you'll need a separate tool or browser-based alternative for those users. The color picker has a known lag when sampling from external applications, which matters if you're matching brand palettes frequently. Before committing, verify in a demo that Sketch's component system (symbols) works for ...Read more

Sketch

What do you like best? Easy prototyping for the look and feel of a website after passing the learning curve. What do you dislike? Not always the most intuitive, took a little while to learn. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Updating the UI of a website to show options to our customers. Way for us to prototype on the front end before making back end changes.

Solid Program For Students On Budget And Freelance Pros

What do you like best? What immediately sold me on Sketch was that I no longer had to make monthly or yearly commitments to Adobe. Their prices go up yearly and their product, although it's an industry standard, could certainly be replicated and knocked off the throne at any moment. Sorry Adobe. I purchased Sketch while finishing college and immediately fell in love with the product. I canceled my student Adobe services and purchased Sketch with the college student discount. I can ...

Easily the best UI design tool

What do you like best? It isn't cluttered with unnecessary tools and plugins. Sketch's symbols feature is probably the best way to quickly create a complete web design project. What do you dislike? The pen tool can be improved further. Additionally, android support for sketch mirror is lacking. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I create designs for websites, apps and any other digital UI interface.

Revolutionized my Design Flow

What do you like best? I love the ability to organize not only my layers but also my web pages by art board. Order and organizational abilities for this software rock. What do you dislike? I dislike that it is only for mac. I was considering moving away from apple because of some decisions they have recently made about laptop design - but I feel held to the apple company because I need Sketch for work. Recommendations to others considering the product: Be aware it is not pc ...

Sketch is awesome!

What do you like best? Sketch is very easy to pick up and use! The bulk of my work is done in Adobe Illustrator, and Sketch works just like Illustrator in many ways. Because of that, I was able to pick it up and learn it within just a day or so. Sketch is also great in the way that it allows for easy web design! What do you dislike? Since Sketch is a relatively new program, there don't seem to be a ton of users at this time. For that reason, there aren't quite as many resources or ...

Distilling only the best of Adobe's Illustrator

What do you like best? Clean interface allows you to work quickly without sacrificing advanced features. Capability for plugins allows expandability and use of invision add on that is esstential for team's workflow. What do you dislike? The clean interface sometimes hides elements that are needed. It only takes a second to dig for them tho. Recommendations to others considering the product: If you have any need to display Hi Fi mock ups to business team members, use it! Don't ...

Easy App

What do you like best? This is a very easy design app to get up and running. Very easy to draw out interfaces and visual designs. I wouldn't recommend it for heavy photo editing though, but great for most common design tasks needed to build out an interface. What do you dislike? Slim photo editing options make it needed to have something like Photoshop alongside this app. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Visual design in client services

The Ultimate and Only Tool for Designers

What do you like best? Symbols, nested symbols, keyboard shortcuts for fast working, artboards (which help me create designs for actual devices and screens, exporting, and how can I forget plugins! They are such a life saver! Also, templates. I can get pre-designed templates from anywhere and voila...ready to go! What do you dislike? A few bugs here and there but the most would be the update pay model that they are introducing! That's a deal breaker for me! Recommendations to others ...

best software on the market today for designing apps

What do you like best? Before sketch, we did everythign with adobe creative suite. it was painful. Sketch is purpose-built for designing apps. Very easy entry/learning curve -- I mentor many students and tell them to use it, over adobe. Gets you going fast. very powerful tools with symbols, styles, etc -- good for simple and complex documents. What do you dislike? Everytime I update Sketch, it's like a fun game to wonder, "what new bug do I get this time?" that being said, ...
