Powerful & Flexible
What do you like best? Sitecore really lets you customize the underlying code to a degree that makes it a product for any situation. Having a little bit of knowledge of the pipelines goes a long way as we just successfully fully integrated with our own inhouse custom code. Being a shop that runs Sitefinity as well that is a huge win for us. What do you dislike? Upgrade process seemed difficult with the documentation available at the time. Now with the new docs website a lot of those ...

Sitecore Upgrades are Painful
What do you like best? Sitecore's data model, roles and permissions. Sitecore is realizing important integration points and continues to respond by building and providing them out of the box. For example, integration with Salesforce. Sitecore data model and API's also enable a wide array of possibilities and integrations. While Sitecore's analytics is not mature enough (I have seen version 8, not version 9 yet) but have heard that analytics in version 9 is quite mature. We still use ...

Sitecore experience
What do you like best? Ability to customize the experience. Runs on .NET. Every new edition comes with more features. What do you dislike? The upgrade process could use a little work. Supporting custom integration or the process of it would be helpful. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Gathering user data and making a more engaged experience. That it gets harder and harder to get user data.

Solid platform with room for tremendous expansion
What do you like best? A relatively newer platform, there is room for growth and expansion of capabilities and services, most features currently feel like freshly launched post-beta. What do you dislike? Extensive development effort required to use the platform, very few native features out of the box. Recommendations to others considering the product: Great platform if you have dedicated development resources to develop requirements. What problems are you solving with the ...

The good, the bad and the ugly
What do you like best? The core CMS functionality is by far the best on the market. It has been the corner stone of the suc6. What do you dislike? All the 'new' marketing functionality is not of the same quality, nor technical, nor business value wise. This has been the case for years now. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Personal engagement questions from customers. Benefit stays today more in segmented approaches and not yet ...

UX guy who thinks he's a developer (but definately not), trying to make the best of Sitecore
What do you like best? Experience editor when the templates are SUPER flexible so I don't finish a project and immediately have to spend money on IT to get more design flexibility. What do you dislike? Not much really... For me, its budgetary. I spend more than I'd prefer on getting functionality and templates built that are not out of the box functionality in Sitecore. Recommendations to others considering the product: Get a good implementer who can help guide you. What ...

Sitecore Balances Power and Flexibility
What do you like best? I love the flexibility that comes with the Sitecore editing experience. As a developer I'm able to easily leverage C# MVC to create powerful components that meet all of my client's needs. What do you dislike? I wish search was easier to set up and customize. Out-of-the-box Sitecore comes powered with solr, but creating custom indexes is a pain. Also, it would be nice if there was an option to have the search engine crawl pages in their entirety like google or ...

Sitecore for the win
What do you like best? I like how customizable and friendly Sitecore is. What do you dislike? Documentation could be a little better, some times is hard to find things or examples for more complex topics. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We are managing our patient engagement via Sitecore and some of the search tools that we use to provide a better experience to them.
