Shortcut pros and cons

  • Offers an intuitive and user-friendly interface, making task tracking and project management straightforward even for non-technical users.

  • Smooth integration with popular tools like GitHub, Zendesk, and Slack, facilitating cross-functional collaboration and communication.

  • Simplifies sprint planning, bug tracking, and task prioritization with features like Stories, Epics, Milestones, and drag-and-drop functionality.

  • Minimal initial configuration required, making it ideal for small teams and startups looking for fast deployment.

  • Lack of robust undo (CMD+Z) or history functionality can lead to data loss and user frustration.

"Very organized project management system"

What do you like best about Shortcut? Shortcut allows me to break down projects with milestones, epics, and stories. Those levels of organization are super helpful to managing design, development, and launch of features, fixes, and product improvements. The ability to tag, label, assign ownership, and comment on any project helps the team work together better. What do you dislike about Shortcut? Getting started wasn't an intuitive process for me, so there has been a bit of a learning curve ...

"It does what it needs to do very well"

What do you like best about Shortcut? I like how easy it is to use. I came from Jira and had no problems with the UI or any features. There are also some cool convenience features, like being able to drag and drop tickets from one lane to another. What do you dislike about Shortcut? There was a short time when I would have a draft saved on a ticket cause that ticket to not load. Or, if it did, it would take upwards of 10 minutes. A cool feature my company and myself would like to see is the ...

"Great low complexity project management tool"

What do you like best about Shortcut? I love that shortcut is lightweight, fast, and feature rich. Coming from Jira, it's been a breath of fresh air. I really like how pages don't lag and things just work. What do you dislike about Shortcut? I'm struggling to figure out how to use epics, but I'm sure with documentation, that can be resolved. What problems is Shortcut solving and how is that benefiting you? Project management across the entire enterprise

"A Great Project Management Tool for Software Teams"

What do you like best about Shortcut? I like Shortcut's focus on features and reporting specifically catering to software development teams. Other tools can be made to work well, but either aren't specifically designed for building software products, or feel clunky and like a chore to use. What do you dislike about Shortcut? I've had issues with Shortcut's pricing changes over the years that have impacted my trust in them, though at the moment I do still use the product because I like it. ...
