In theory this would be great but they…
In theory this would be great but they are full of crap when they say it’s unlimited reading. I listen to a lot of audiobooks as I spend a lot of time working alone and get tired of the radio. The more you listen/read the more books become unavailable, even off your saved list. This is especially true with higher profile/more sought after authors or books. They give you some spiel about a “rotating library” but that’s a crock of crap too because as soon as your subscription renews they are ...

I have been pleased with the app
I have been pleased with the app. There aren’t as many titles as I’d like. I’ve searched and haven’t been able to find some, but overall I like it. It’s a good app for the price. Better than Audible I think.

Has the potential to be great
The app experience is good and the recommendations based upon your past readings work well but the catalogue of books is not extremely impressive. There is no consistency in this regard - you might be disappointed at not finding a fairly important and popular title, but be successful in getting hold of a relatively obscure one. Scribd needs to get a lot more books on their platform.

Great, but deceptive
The library of books is great and I love the fact that there are audiobooks as well. HOWEVER, there is some really weird limit to the amount you can read that is never disclosed. I cannot pin down what this limit is, but occasionally nearly all of my books will become unavailable for a week or two. It wouldn’t be so bad if this was disclosed, but the deceptive marketing and answers I’ve received is extremely unprofessional.

Billed my unused account for two years
I signed up for their free one-month trial, and was then silently billed for two years witout realizing it. I think I canceled, but in all honesty it was two years ago, so it is hard to be sure. I am very aware of my own responsibilities and accountability, nonetheless, their policy of billing an unused account without sending an email, monthly billing statement, or other notification has left me feeling tricked and taken advantage of. UPDATE: I was contacted by Scribd and they did give me ...
