Scribed is a totally annoying website that wastes your valuable time when you want to cancel your subscription. Be CAREFUL before signing up with them or they will suck $7.99 a month out of your bank acccount and then force you to jump through almost infinite loops just to simply cancel your account and leave you in peace. Using scribed may be a horrible mistake … think at least 7 times before choosing this path for your life. Seriously … do you really want to be hassled by scribed or not … ...

Longtime scribd member, first time with real issues
I've been a member for years, and its just recently that I have been having issues, as until last month I have been very happy with the app (save for the few technical issues last fall that were fixed fairly quickly.) I saw another reviewer recently comment about content getting locked, and I am also having this issue. According to the answers that the other reviewer received and that I have gotten from customer service this is because there is a "rotating library" system. The problem is ...

Really difficult to unsubscribe
Really difficult to unsubscribe. They hide the "continue unsubscribing" button below a lot of content. You have to scroll down and press "continue unsubscribing" (I believe) at least 2 -3 times before they give you a cancellation confirmed message. Unethical. Bottom line is that they ended up taking an extra month from me for no reason.

Very annoying to not be able to read my saved books and started books. I’m paying for UNLIMITED books and it’s a joke! Not true at all! Constantly getting notifications that the books I want to read are available next month. I don’t want to read trash!

I'm satisfied with your service the only thing is you don't have all the books and magazines up to date . However, I'm not complaining everything I do is digital reading after all we're in the 21st century. Also I want to add something saving the trip from going into the library and book store anywhere in this global planet.

Scribd is like Netflix for books
Scribd is like Netflix for books. I have been able to listen to so many. There have only been two or three that I have searched for and they didn’t have. Their algorithm for recommending books has been great, too. It allowed us to find a gem called Habits of the Household. I really like that is has both audio and written books. Lastly, I like that it recommends book summaries and podcasts related to the books and authors I search for.

Beware Credit Card Required for Free Title
They offer one free title if you sign up for a trial. The catch is that you think you're just giving them your email address. After they have your email you find out that they require your credit card to activate the free trial. From the reviews below, sounds like cancelling the renewal is challenging so I've decided to pass. Glad Trust Pilot reviewers are providing their experiences and saving me the trouble.

I absolutely love it that I can read the last page of a book and then start reading the follow up or jus go on to a next book.No driving to the bookstore first and then maybe having to wait for the book to be ordered!!!

Do not consider giving them your payment details!! I have been cancelling my subscription for months and they ALWAYS renew it anyway!! No answer from customer service at all!!
