Billing without notice

I used a free trial of Scribd Oct 2018 and was still billed after then, the worst part is I did not recieve any reciepts or emails of their deductions to my bank, and so I had no idea they were billing me for months. This was going on for 18 months and I just knew about it today. I only used scribd to access 3 documents but was billed a total of $160+ for the last 18 months not knowing that I was subscribed to their service.

Scam

Scam. Signed up for a 30 day free trial. Cancelled well within that time but was still charged. When contacted, they tell me they have no record of my cancellation. My experience is clearly just like thousands of others online: I have been scammed. Avoid this site at all costs.

SCAM- UPDATE: CHARGED ME AGAIN TODAY!

SCAM! They have been charging me twice for the past seven months! Not to mention they would not send you an email receipt of payment. I requested for a refund and so far, have only received response regarding the last month of payment. Apparently they have a 30-day refund policy. What about the past six months of double charging?!

Extracting uploads with no downloads in return?

Scribd claims you can get a free download of an article if you upload a file. I uploaded a pdf of a publication of mine. Scribd said they had that title. Uploaded 2 more. Scribd said they had each of them. So I searched for them -- Scribd had only one, not all. BUT all that I uploaded became listed under works I just uploaded. So presumably Scribd would now have them to distribute. It seems like Scribd gets uploads for free, but then replies that it has these and doesn't allow a free download.

Rubbish

It tells you you can download as many titles as you like but then it decides that no, it only wants you to have access to some of them in full and you have to wait a month to access what they then deem you can. Ridiculous. Also, you can't keep the books you've downloaded. Rubbish. I'm told someone also received spam. And be careful when cancelling as they make you jump through many many hoops. Stay away.

Another victim of fraudulent charges

Another victim of fraudulent charges. An employee of theirs confirmed my subscription cancellation in writing in June of 2018. Despite this, Scribd has been charging me until February of 2020. I have made complains about this but they insist their their "refund policy" does not allow refunds of transactions made more than 30 days ago. In other words, they charge you without your consent and cannot refund you due to an "internal policy". I have been trying to get in touch with their ...

Love this App

This is a wonderful App for reading and audiobooks. I think it’s better in many ways than the competition. I bought a whole year subscription because i liked it so much.

They never stop charging you once you accept their "free" trial

They have charged $10.79 on my card on March 27th. I had a free trial subscription which I cancelled last November. I was utterly shocked on Friday to find out that my cancelled subscription was resurrected. So, you may cancel your subscription, you may delete your account, but the only safe way to avoid further charges is to block your card and get a new one. I tried to login to my account to erase all my data. Error message: Server denied connection. I emailed them. They have no 'clue' ...
