Great layout program

What do you like best? The ability to line up image and text boxes with equal spacing. What do you dislike? Importing adobe illustrator and photoshop files are not as seamless as adobe indesign. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? One of the benefits I have realized is that there is no guess work in measurement of text/image boxes. Just simply plug in the numbers and the program does it for you.

Newspaper Design

What do you like best? I like the simplicity of QuarkXpress best. QuarkXpress' easy-to-understand user interface is what drives quick-turnaround publishing. What do you dislike? Although the simple user interface enhances productivity, QuarkXpress lacks the tools necessary for more comprehensive page designs. Recommendations to others considering the product I recommend QuarkXpress for less graphic heavy publishing. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits ...

Excellent product, but not as commonly used as before.

What do you like best? The last version of Quark XPress I have used was 6.5. I have always enjoyed the powerful features of the software, and knowing Quark XPress allowed me to get hired for more projects than knowing only InDesign. What do you dislike? Quark XPress does not seem to be the industry standard any more; while it is a very good program, it doesn't have the reach that it once had. Recommendations to others considering the product If you need a publishing software that can ...

Great page layout program, easy to use

What do you like best? I like how easy it is to use, once you learn it. What do you dislike? It's not real smooth with integrating with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Adobe InDesign is better, in my opinion, and easier to use in general. Plus, since every Graphic Designer uses Photoshop and Illustrator, InDesign is set up similar to those and I feel more familiar with the workspace in InDesign. I don't feel like QuarkXPress is as user-friendly as Adobe InDesign. What business problems ...

QuarkXPress Review

What do you like best? I would say ease of use, but still this is a matter of preference. I was trained to use Quark, as I earned my Bachelor of Fine Art degree in Graphic Design. I studied hard, and got really efficient at, so it's easy for me to go in and quickly do what I want with Quark. Two-thirds, through my college study, the professor started teaching us InDesign. I didn't like it so much because it was a little cumbersome to use, but this is because I had not done extensive ...

QuarkXpres...Great Publishing Program

What do you like best? One of the all time favorites. Was introduced to it in college and have been using it ever since. Very quick and easy to use when creating layouts for flyers, brochures, books, magazines and more. I really like how they added the HTML5-based App Studio tools in the 2015 version. What do you dislike? Only thing I had a problem with was with version !0. There were issues with crashing. Also the image previews were normally distorted/not displaying correctly. The Image ...

The master has become the student

What do you like best? The software allows expansive control for all of your publishing needs. But the difficulty in use may trump any positives. What do you dislike? The software is no longer as relevant or customer-centric as it could be or compared to other leading publishing software. Not as user friendly as it needs to be. Vendors who are familiar with Quark are difficult to find, putting your project in jeopardy. Recommendations to others considering the product Look at and try ...
