proton mail account - unable to easily change PW details
I am still with proton but I needed to change my password. I cant recall old one as access to original machine bypassed password. They insist that if I change my password unless I recall old one - even though I am using recovery email & 2FA code - that I will lose my messages, contacts etc. I continue to use it from laptop. There is an exceptions route that works. I was not aware of it beforehand. I am satisfied the matter has been resolved now. With help of their customer service

Protonmail is super slow
Protonmail is super slow, sometimes doesnt response to any inputs and freezes randomly. Which makes this software not usable as a daily mailer. The iPhone App is even slower, crashes often during loading and is completelly unusable. The best solution they gave me, was to close the app and restart it. Well, guess how often have I done this 😂

Reliable Email Service with Top-notch Security!
I'm delighted with ProtonMail! The email service functions flawlessly, and the security features are top-notch. My experience has been consistently positive. However, a few minor improvements could enhance the overall user experience. Overall, a solid choice for secure and reliable email communication!

Lost subscription months
Due to a bug of the website payment form I lost some months of subscription because of how strangely their calculation worked after the payment form bugged. Support team keeps telling me that they cannot restore my previous subscription so I basically lost 4 months of subscription. I will think again before making a subscription to this platform, probably I'll move to another similar service. Ticket number: 2589924

Protonmail isn't as good as it claims
Protonmail now seems to limit the number of accounts you could have for free, which could be understandable if they do it for whatever legal reason, but it comes out as ways to be paranoid. Even gmail doesn't seem to care if you register multiple accounts. Another tidbid is that in order to reply to email messages, you must manually type it's recipient because it leaves it blank for some unfathomable reason. I now have read other complications this service has so I am not signing up for ...

too expensive
I feel bad giving 1 star to something I truly loved and was probably the first 100 people to signup. I even became a paid member for a year after my inbox became full. But I have since switched to gmail because of how expensive it is. 5 euros per month for EMAIL? Something you get practically for free anywhere, and you add little security and just jump from 0 to 60 euros per year? The fee is too much specially in the current economy. I can understand 1 euro per month or even 2, but 5 ...

Would love to give zero stars
Would love to give zero stars. The worst email company of all time. Messages just evaporate or cannot be opened

Expensive and restrictive
I signed up for a 2-year Premium plan despite the price because of the good reviews and the ability to set up e-mail addresses for my custom domains. They force you to buy their password manager and VPN solutions which felt weird. But the bigger surprise came when I tried to set up my webservers to send e-mails via Proton. Turns out that Protonmail does not offer SMTP/IMAP servers. Instead, you have to install and configure "proton-mail bridge" (an e-mail server proxy) on every machine ...

Terrible customer support
Their customer service is incredibly rude and unhelpful. Purchasing from them was a huge mistake and I was treated terribly by their support agent. I used to love Proton and be a huge supporter, but now I regret ever dealing with them. I'm so disappointed to find out how they treat their customers and how little they actually care.
