2 stars because! My account was placed on hold after less than 24 hours of being signed up with prolific! No reason I fit the description! 2nd star because they have a wonderful user interface it is user friendly for skilled and unskilled people! The payments are really good and you can cash out once a day! The surveys, tasks, and studies are not boring or annoying or not too long! The return is worth the time!

Lots of studies to take part in!
I expected to only get a few studies a week, if that, but I've been able to check Prolific once every few hours and do a couple studies, each worth around $0.50-$3.00. Support has also been very nice and clear on helping with some account issues.

Prolific Manipulating People!
All of these good reviews you see are from people who think they are getting something out of it. Plot twist: YOU'RE NOT. Prolific has created a pop up that redirects you to Trustpilot, which then makes people think that they need to write a good review to maintain good status on the platform. Prolific knows what they are doing by incorporating this, TrustPilot needs to take their company down for this.
