I love PIA
I love PIA! I recommend it to all my friends and family. It is simply the best. Smooth easy to use GUI. Allows you to seamlessly move between protocols and change settings. I love the split tunnel option in case you have have programs that will not work well with VPN such as gaming or streaming videos.

Quick, secure, and affordable VPN!
Quick, easy, secure, and can be used on all of my devices. Been using PIA for 3 years now and love it! They are just as reliable and fast as the big guys without the ridiculous prices.

The response gave me an inventory of things I might try. Changing ports worked. I assume that there was some sort of collision between PIA's default port and some common use of that port but I don't care to investigate that further. Unfortunately I did not notice any PIA information or instructions regarding port numbers, their use, conflicts, or why they might be important. So far it's amazing!
So far it's amazing! I had problems with my internet connection. Routers or other devices interfering with my steam downloads not letting me download games and all kinds of weird things. I knew I needed a VPN or some kind of shielding so my ISP or whatever random device couldn't tamper with my data flow.
