PowerSchool does its job.

What do you like best? PowerSchool is customizable and flexible to fit our needs. There are numerous ways to create and generate reports from simple to advanced. What do you dislike? Sometimes support is slow to respond. We had an issue with our test server's automatic refresh which wasn't solved for months. What problems are you solving with the product? PowerSchool used daily!

What do you like best? Easy access from any computer at any location What do you dislike? Sometimes access to information does not have an easy path. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? The more I use the product, the more familiar I become. Updates often change things that didn't appear "broken" and that is often frustrating.

It's probably the best SIS for Virginia.

What do you like best? It's very it's fairly user friendly and you can do a lot of custom stuff if you know SQL. What do you dislike? There seems to be a more problems that require regular updates. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We would not be able to function without this SIS. State reporting, reports, tracking attendance, all of those critical functions schools have to do are handled by PowerSchool.

Great Capabilities

What do you like best? The east of importing and exporting data into the system. What do you dislike? The support could be better because they always redirect you to articles instead of actually helping with your needs.. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? State reporting is great with PowerSchool. The major benefits is the ease of reporting and attendance tracking.

Highly customizable, but at a price

What do you like best? Product is relatively flexible, with significant inhouse knowledge can be very powerfull. What do you dislike? Built on old database structures. Old tables, information, procedures are never cleared, making it for a very messy structure. User customization and product updates are hard to maintain in sync. Recommendations to others considering the product: Avoid customizations at all costs, unless internal training and knowledge is plentifull. What ...

PowerSchool is Rich

What do you like best? I like how PowerSchool offer so many things to manage in school. I understand how rich it is with all its features, but I would like a more friendly interface for the user. What do you dislike? It's not self-explanatory and it should offer in training videos for initial use. PowerSchool SIS

What do you like best? Oracle database, able to query things from back end using sqlplus or SQL Developer. Ability to modify PowerSchool front end pages is good. What do you dislike? PowerSchool leaves much to be desired with ability to add / modify without using APIs, which most districts are not able to leverage. Gets the job done

What do you like best? I like that the attendance, gradebooks, and student information are all available in the same place. I also love how kind the tech support team is. What do you dislike? I have had some trouble with GPA calculation, and every tech support person seems to have a different solution - consequently, my GPAs are always incorrect in one way or another. Good housing for teacher & staff evaluations

What do you like best? We use PowerSchool for our teacher and staff evaluation processes. I really like the ability the customize forms and processes so that we can specialize our evaluations to specific groups. This gives us the data we're looking for in order to grow teachers. Its a robust system, but it lacks modernization and user friendliness

What do you like best? So far, I'm struggling to find things I like best. I hear that its reliable and provides all the functionality that we need as a school system. It is used by everyone in our district so that is helpful to provide information sharing. What do you dislike? Lots. As one who has experience with many different systems in past roles, its very user un-friendly. I'm old, and it reminds me of DOS. Its GUI is non existent. The fields are inexplicable and random.
