"Gaining Additional Funding for a Short Film"

What do you like best about Patreon? We found that the people who did contribute to the project were easily able to do so and the general set up of the account was very streamlined. This was a huge help as we were under a very strict deadline for this round of funding.

The company lies

The company lies, censors, and changes their ToS on a whim to take away the livelyhoods of people they disagree with. Even if the CEO expressly says what you're doing is okay in a public interview means nothing. Don't trust these morons with a dime, and especially don't trust them as a source of income for you.

Patreon Hates Free Speech and Expression

Why should I let big tech elitist shills have moral authority over who I can and can't give MY money to? Are you a platform or the thought police, Patreon? I can't tell the difference with these Silicon Valley trolls anymore.

Ideologically biased company who puts fake virtue-signalling before business & users

When a company doesn't follow its own terms of service, doesn't value Freedom Of Speech, the cornerstone of western civilization, gets a content creator banned for ripped out of context "hate speech" which didn't happen on their platform, then lays low for a while and doesn't see harm in their actions still a month later... is there anything else to say?

Biased , corrupted service

They cant be trusted , the rules are unclear and their "trust" and safety committee can ban your patreon if they don't like your content or political view. Other platforms offering the same service are emerging since more creators leave patreon out of fear of getting banned and protest of censoring free speech/content creating.

Censorious

Censorious, politically aligned, dishonest platform. The CEO has clearly lied on numerous occasions and the woman running the so called "Trust & Safety" team seems to have an agenda.

Just deleted my account

Just deleted my account. Their naked political activity in deplatforming Carl Benjamin for frankly spurious reasons means they are not safe for any creator to work with.
