Not worth the price

Otter.ai is not worth the high price. 1. It has trouble transcribing non american accents. 2. It doesn't do a good job distinguishing between different speakers. 3. The automatic summary chapters don't actually work at all. 4. It only transcribes audio (you can upload videos but only transcribes and only gives a chance to download audio) if you want to capture the video segment, it's not possible. 5. Customer service is mediocre and requires much back and forth to answer simple issues.

What do you like best about Otter.ai? It helps record my meeting when I'm unable to join and it also transcribes and can get all my meetings from my personal gmail and professional gmail. I love it so much. One of my favorite apps😻😻😻❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Solved Billing Mixup

I've been an Otter customer for several years. I had a bit of a billing mixup - a rep gave me the wrong pricing for my renewal - and reading these reviews made me fear the worst. However, Otter worked with me and honored the price the rep had given me, keeping me as a customer. It took a few communications to get it right, but they came through in the end. Not every company is willing to stand by their rep's mistakes, but Otter did for me.

What do you like best about Otter.ai? It's a super handy tool when in client meetings over software like Zoom. Otter seamlessly integrates into the meeting after syncing with your email, and once in the Zoom room it also informs other participants about what the software will be doing, briefly. It transcribes, verbatim everything mentioned in the meetings which makes its very easy to take down notes.

Far too intrusive

I don't remember signing up for Otter.ai and all of a sudden every meeting I was a part of was recorded and I did not understand how to turn this off. The participants were VERY offended and this software made me look bad in multiple different meetings. The downside far outweighed the features.

Transcription is good but beware

Otter's transcription is quite good but the customer service is among the worst I've encountered. If you have any problem at all, it might take their tech support weeks to resolve it. I recorded an interview for a deadline article; the recording began to stall during the interview. It appeared to transcribe fairly well but the man was soft spoken so I needed to listen. It skipped and stuttered so badly I couldn't make sense of it. Instead of helping, Otter tech support deleted the recording ...
