From relaltional to multi-dimensional

What do you like best? Ever since I've been introduced to Essbase - multi-dimensional database (which was around 12 years ago now), Ive never looked back to the more traditional relational databases. Greatest upside for me is the definition of multiple dimensions paving the way for different pivots and point of view analysis. What do you dislike? Hyperion EPM Architect

What do you like best? Robust calculation engine. Great performance. Easy to create cubes and load data. The MDX reporting option.. The SmartView interface. What do you dislike? Sometimes the low level of support when critical tickets are submitted. Some tickets are closed without solution. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Essbase helped us to create consolidation and reporting cubes that meet our requirements.

Great for BSO but not so much for ASO

What do you like best? There are so many new features being rolled out for BSO in the new patches and we are excited to try them. What do you dislike? We do not like that latest patches break exisiting functionality for ASO What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Great product for analytics

What do you like best? Essbase forces the organization to keep analytics at a strategic/executive level. What do you dislike? There can become a bad habit of creating a lot of little applications which can be difficult to maintain. What do you like best? The ability to use it for multiple types of data reporting from large retail (but summarized) data to currency exchange rates What do you dislike?
