Solid Database

What do you like best? I like the functionality of Essbase. Once you know how to use it, it's simple, reliable and fast. What do you dislike? Essbase is difficult for new users. I find it has a very steep learning curve and requires that users know their dimensions, otherwise if prone to (mostly user) error. What problems are you solving with the product? On premise has been a reliable platform

What do you like best? We like the ability to leverage our internal resources to manage the on-premise solution. What do you dislike? Oracle technical support is often unreliable, misdirecting the issue back on the customer. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Financial reporting, quickly deliviering information at a management reporting level

Love Essbase

What do you like best? Love the capabilities to pull data in Smarview. Super excited to have JUST learned more about leveraging MDX as a tool for myself and my super users. What do you dislike? Limitations and slowness in Ad Hoc queries. (hoping to transcend these with MDX) What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Highly utilized by my power users to do analytic pulls.

Essbase is still the most dominate solution ever

What do you like best? I like the flexibility, the adaptability, and the usability. What do you dislike? Sales cycle for on premise can be difficult. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? It makes all the wrongs in the world from a financial perspective right.

How multidemensional has to be done.

What do you like best? Essbase, as experts in multidimensional databases know the product Oracle Analytics, is a special database tuned for analysis purposes, allows true dimension structures which are ragged. What do you dislike? The listprice, although companies who use it extensively, say it is worth each dollar. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Insight into your data via dimension rollups and completed by calculations of KPIs.

Essbase on-prem

What do you like best? Abilty to summarize & analyze data. Write back capabilities. Low IT involvement What do you dislike? MDX queries are not stored centrally. Financial Reports tool is difficult to use and not user frienly. Smartview keeps crashing on some machines. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Revenue recognition - IFRS 16

We really love Essbase and Planning ,The way it works is really easy .We have PBCS now and even that works as expected for ONLY planning apps.But for ESSABSE stand alone we really need some cloud cleart cut option What do you dislike?
