HFM user uses Essbase
What do you like best? I come from accounting background and HFM administration. I had to pick up Essbase administration when our expert left. Comparing the two, Essbase is much easier to build, change, even re-create is something goes wrong. We have been able to build cubes for special purposes and different hierarchies when doing it in HFM would be too difficult/time-consuming. What do you like best? Reporting capabilities. Ability to slice/dice data in anyway you want. What do you dislike? Less than ideal ability to lock/restrict users from submitting data into invalid intersections (I.e. Configured Properly it does vry well with organizing your data
What do you like best? I like the fact that we can pull all our data in the ESSBASE cubes for reporting, planning, Capital expenditures and workforce, integrate the data and use the information in essbase for internal and external reporting. What do you like best? The ability to slice and dice data that supports various use cases. What do you dislike? I wish that Essbase and HFM were more closely integrated in terms of dimensionality. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Intercompany Matching Analysis. Thanks to the speed and flexibility Essbase allows, the activity of Intercompany variance analysis is much smoother in Essbase.
