Tools you can't live without

What do you like best? Resource Manager GUI, once you get the concept of resource manager it is much easier to set up "usage restriction" via Resource Manager Console than SQL PLUIS. Ability to write metric and deploy them to multiple databases. Scheduling RMAN backup jobs are much easier with EM console. Ability to monitor the host availability. What do you dislike? Database->Control (Startup and Shutdown). I never use this feature because it is much slower than connecting via ...

All The Information You Need Is In Front Of You

What do you like best? I find it nice that OEM provides a graphical way to manage both our database and E-Business Suite. It's great being able to see that all the information you need is in front of you on the screen. There are links that allow you to kill sessions or to check your performance. With other solutions, you just see numbers go by on a screen. What do you dislike? It can be a process hog sometimes. When I do leave it running, the CPU fan kicks on, and I can hear it ...

good for monitoring Oracle

What do you like best? I think my favorite part is the ability to set up alerts. Monitoring Top activity and the interface to run the SQL advisor are what I use the most though. What do you dislike? I need to learn or it needs to be easier to run thing from the command line. Would be nice is connectors to other programs/applications/etc. worked as well as the Oracle side does. Recommendations to others considering the product: Be advised it costs extra, as does the Diagnostic ...
