I like small plug-able databases

What do you like best? I like the smarter optimizer and plug-able databases. I like soundex also. I can use java in DB layer. What do you dislike? I would like the better developer tools for oracle. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I use for banking and trading systems. Most requirement is the reliable system and deterministic behavior.

Oracle 12c

What do you like best? The compatibility with all the previous versions. Moving to 12c was a simple process with minimal issues. What do you dislike? Not complete support for JSON and XML... What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? It is the main corporate DB on most of my clients.

What do you like best? Tons of features, love the pl/sql and new autonomous path oracle is going in. What do you dislike? Licensing is somewhat confusing, and the learning curve is steep. What do you like best? Scalability, ease of use, multitenant feature that enables ease of maintainance and dba tasks. What do you dislike? Fact that multi-tenant requires additional licensing. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Multi-tenant has resolved many issues related to dba tasks.

Great database to work with for enterprise solutions

What do you like best? Integration using API's makes it very easy to use in Enterprise Java Applications What do you dislike? Using it locally for development takes a lot of space when you setup the developers edition on your local device. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Our company is using for years Oracle databases. Most customer data is stored.

Database 12c

What do you like best? That you can turn on 11g compatibility mode. Often times the new features come at a cost when bugs arise. What do you dislike? Patching process often introduces bugs for features we don't currently have enabled What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Using the database for highly available solutions at scale.

What do you like best? It looks like Oracle Database 12c has building blocks for future cloud readiness. What do you dislike?
