Powerful tool, steep learning curve

What do you like best? Tons of downloadable stencil packs, robust community of users, high degree of customization, easy & quick alignment tools, ability to create user journey & sitemap documents. Extremely scalable; user can create high-level information architecture documents and low-fidelity wireframes, but enough font, color & style options to bring wireframes up to medium/high fidelity so that they're presentation-ready without needing to export to Sketch/Adobe. What do you ...

A Robust, Carefully-Designed Diagramming Tool -- Not my first choice for wireframes/prototyping

What do you like best? My favorite app to create sturdy diagrams. I use this primarily to create user flow diagrams and information architecture diagrams. A lot of carefully-designed features to help you make diagrams that won't fall apart if you want to move something, or add/remove nodes, etc. For instance, line hops!!! Such an esoteric diagram-building problem that is solved so elegantly by this tool. Downloadable stencils are a very valuable asset that can render this tool ...

Omnigraffle used for presentation graphics

What do you like best? I like best the ease of use in generating visually appealing and clear diagrams. What do you dislike? I dislike the inability to use a version control system such as gut to keep track of versions of a diagram, while retaining meaningful diffs in the version control system. When I really need this, I use graphviz to create the diagram and live with its limitations.

Great tool for low and high fidelity mocks

What do you like best? I like Omnigraffle, it's a good tool made for digital designers. I think it's useful how they have set up an online library that you can work with and download great looking pre-defined components for your design. It's also useful to edit lots of art boards all at once. I think one good advantage it has over Sketch is the layer management is WAY better, and doesn't confuse me. What do you dislike? I dislike the face that when i use the program it feels ...

One of the main reasons I use a Mac is Omnigraffle

What do you like best? I've used Omnigraffle for over a decade (I think), and second to using paper and a sharpie it's the quickest way to draw up some quick concepts, show some prototypes of interfaces or draw some flowcharts or diagrams. In addition, it's great for planning room or office layouts What do you dislike? The only gripe I have is that I keep forgetting that some of the keyboard shortcuts aren't the ones I'd be expecting. Zooming in and out, for instance doesn't work with ...

Interactive Developer, Front end, UX/UI developer

What do you like best? Pretty short learning curve and nice community built templates can help get a deck together very quickly. Finished products are very professional and ready for delivery. What do you dislike? In my process, I have all but eliminated delivering static documents. In my experience it is not a great use of client money and decks usually get put "on the shelf" to never be looked at again. I primarily build prototypes now to convey experience and behavior, but I am also ...

My go-to tool for diagrams, flow charts, Garrett IA, wireframes

What do you like best? Object oriented flowcharts mean things have actual logic relationships; entity charts can be grown, moved about, and extended. I use Omnigraffle for all kinds of quick diagrams, including flow charts, narrative flows, IAs, and quick wireframes, although increasingly Sketch is a better tool for software wireframing. What do you dislike? The help system is not useful and it has a longer learning curve than you'd expect. Some actions—like splitting a line—still ...

Still the best diagraming software for OSX

What do you like best? Omnigraffle was one of the first 3rd party tools that really wowed me when I switched to OSX in 2008. It has a clean interface, it's stable, easy to use, and has consistently improved on minor usability issues in each release. It lets you create professional looking diagrams quickly and easily. PDF export works really well. What do you dislike? Unfortunately there are areas where Omnigraffle has lost its way a bit, or never lived up to its potential. ...

Good wireframing/diagramming tool

What do you like best? Quick way of creating wireframes and mockups. Very flexible in setting up canvases and managing layers by showing/hiding. What do you dislike? Only available for Mac. Many PC users do not like this and makes it difficult to be versatile tool. Recommendations to others considering the product: Omnigraffle is a leading UX tool. Makes wireframing very easier and efficient. I would love to have it available on PC platform to make it versatile tool. What ...

An indispensable graphic design tool

What do you like best? Lots of functions for drawing and designing all kinds of images, diagrams, charts, and so on. I do a lot of drawings to illustrate concepts in my work as a consultant -- Omnigraffle makes me look good with less effort than I have a right to expect. What do you dislike? Omnigraffle is becoming increasingly complex -- which is making it harder to use. I fear it is beginning to become a bit bloated. Recommendations to others considering the product: Prepare for ...
