Namecheap is garbage
I've been using namecheap with 10-20 domains for years, and I can say that Namecheap is honestly garbage. Their support is unapologetic and they usually just tell you to do hacks and work arounds. You'll see intermittent issues saving DNS records with no way of knowing if it failed or not. Support will tell you to "just add a test record and remove it".Also note that namecheap do not support having a root level A/CNAME records. That means you'll never be able to do "hxxps://google.com" and ...

Site down for over 4 days now
Site down for over 4 days now - customer support take over 48 hours to respond to anything. The absolute worst customer service I've seen in 25 years of working in IT.

Their prices are good
Their prices are good, but when my domain expired on 10/31/18, they took the .com for one of my domains and auctioned it the same day with no grace period. They then left the .net one up another 30 days with an $88 charge to renew. I don't mind a penalty if it's my fault, but they auctioned the .com out of greed and offered me 1 of 2 of my domains that had expired on the same day to purchase back from them. I had been their customers for years, but no longer. I am going to GoDaddy.

Getting Charged for a Domain I didn't Want
Today I just got charged for a domain I didn't want. I got no notice that it was being renewed, I just got the charge in my account. The support says there are no refunds and now I have to change how I budget just to account for the domain charge. Their support is trying to find a solution, but they fail to acknowledge that their platform didn't send me a notice about this. The second CloudFlare's domain registrar comes out, I'm switching.

Got an email that my domain will get…
Got an email that my domain will get renewed. Contacted support to discontinue that - nobody got back. They charged me then got back that they don't give refunds, it's against their policy. Never ordering from them again and urge everyone not to buy from a company that runs such scam policies.
