What do you like best? The fact that PPM and other Microsoft tools like Project Server, Project Professional, Project for Office 365 are integrated into the SharePoint server makes it a one stop shop for all the slated audience to access information at a single platform. This makes centralised project planning very simple and flexible. Quite easy to teach yourself
What do you like best? I like that it is easy to breakdown a project into different tiers of importance, and be able to assign time frames, cost, and people to each line item. This application also allows you to run reports based on cost, resourcing, and timelines. What do you dislike? The only complaint I have is that sometimes it is difficult to get line items in the correct place if they need to be moved. Recommendations to others considering the product It's very easy to learn ...

Overall restraints of tracking, but that is really minor. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Tracking of the project and a centralized record of that project.

Used several versions of Microsoft Project & Portfolio, definitely has improved over time
What do you like best? The scheduling engine within Microsoft Project is the gold standard. I can enter my effort, constraints, and resources and it outputs a date for me. That is how you should estimate a project is by letting the tool calculate how long it will take and not trying to manufacturer a date. What do you dislike? I have used several versions of the Portfolio Management tool and it always made it easier and worked better if everything had a project plan. Some small ...

Project is the only tool that could help with project management currently, but it can improve.

Design can be more user friendly. My experience indicates that people who use MS project are trained Project Managers, but it can expand and be used by project members as well. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Ability to build a ...

Project management standard
What do you like best? This a well known and well used piece of software. Most people are familiar with the Gantt charts, but there are many other features that make this the all around industry standard. What do you dislike? It can be painful to use, especially with a very large project or multi project program. That is a s much a reflction on the quality of the tool as it is the complexity iof the tasks at hand. Recommendations to others considering the product This is the ...
