It should be better

What do you like best? If I'm honest, I just using Microsoft Project to 'design' a timeline of the project I'm currently working. We are not keeping track of the tasks, basically because we didn't see any improvement to our daily work. Anyway the timeline looks good What do you dislike? Not to much options, specially in designing timelines Very basic interface to enter tasks What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We are ...

Great Way to Plan Forward

What do you like best? MS Project has an abundance of tools to use for projects. It can support a wide variety of project management styles and practices. The auto scheduling feature is great for forward scheduling and get a project done as soon as possible. What do you dislike? The amount of tools, although great can be cumbersome. It requires a lot of time an effort to learn the product to use to it's full potential. Recommendations to others considering the product This can be ...

Microsoft Project & Portfolio Review

What do you like best? The ability to include information, within a "Dropdown" feature. It makes it easier to classify information through sub groups. Also the scheduling portion provides the ability to easily provide information to my customers What do you dislike? Not extremely user friendly if you don't have someone with experience using the program. Self taught myself so I struggled in the beginning Recommendations to others considering the product Get a tutorial from an ...

Good features, not team-friendly

What do you like best? It is the best project management tool in terms of all features and aspects - tracking dependencies, resourcing, etc. all in one place. What do you dislike? It is not sharing-friendly. Most of my teams, anyone who isn't a program/project manager, does not have or use MS project so I have to constantly export as PDF and it is large and unwieldly, and also uneditable by the team. Recommendations to others considering the product Buy a lot of licenses and ...

Too late too little for your money

What do you like best? I think everyone who has a bit of experience with other Office programs like Word or Excel will probably find it easy to navigate through the menus. It's also pretty complete as a project management tool. What do you dislike? The Office package is still too expensive and nowadays there are lots of other cheaper tools that allow you to do mostly the same things in a similar way and sometimes even more efficiently. Recommendations to others considering the product ...

Maybe not the best but reliable and straightforward

What do you like best? The initial ease of setup allows you to do a basic project outline quickly. Anyone with any knowledge of windows products will feel familiar with at least some of the interface. What do you dislike? Its showing its age and there are plenty of free or cheaper alternatives out there now which do almost everything that MS project can. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Project planning on a major company wide ...

Microsoft Project - for Project Management

What do you like best? I love the filtering abilities in Microsoft Project, I am constantly using them for zooming in on what's critical whether in a meeting or working solo to update the schedule. I often have schedules over 500 lines, so the filters are key for me to focus myself and the team. What do you dislike? I wish there was an easier way to set up reports. It looks like there are tons of cool features, but they aren't as user-friendly as some of the other Microsoft Project ...

Perfect for any small business

What do you like best? I love how versatile microsoft makes this project and protfolio managment system work, it takes the work out of my hands and digitizes it. What do you dislike? What i dislike about the program is how slow it can be sometimes, sometimes the program will glitch and shut down but other then that the downsides are very minimal while using the program. Recommendations to others considering the product I reccomend the pricing be considered as part of the complete ...
