Microsoft Project 2016 is a powerful project management tool

What do you like best? Work planning, cost forecasting and resource capacity planning are some of the immediate best areas. In Microsoft Project 2016, the Timeline Views, and the Business intelligence are extremely easy to use and create very powerful and simple reporting for senior stakeholders. What do you dislike? The learning curve was a bit higher than with other project management software but once you get a hang of things, it becomes a very powerful tool. What business problems ...

Microsoft Project

Sometimes it is difficult to get the look and formatting right. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Tracking progress and keeping up with project deadlines

Klunky, but serviceable

What do you like best? Being able to link activities, milestones, and other other items with dependencies and assigning owners to each of these is a nice tool. Also, the ability to watch how one timeline shift impacts your whole project is nice too. What do you dislike? Unfortunately, the whole interface is highly complex and requires hours of training to make the most of the application. For non-project managers, I would recommend finding another online tool to track your work ...

Using Microsoft Project for senior design scheduling

What do you like best? The flexibility to schedule multiple activities and share activities with multiple individuals. What do you dislike? Sometimes it can be not super intuitive with how to utilize the program setting up your project. My coworker and I had to use some YouTube videos to learn how to use it rather than the help section. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We were using it for our senior design schedule. It worked ...

Excellent tool for planning

What do you like best? I liked the ability to be able to visualize when things would be started and completed, seeing the possible paths we could take, and considering alternatives. What do you dislike? I did not like that there were some features missing that would have improved the product. It is excellent that it is user friendly, but I would have appreciated some more options such as adding cost as a factor into time. If one option is more costly, but faster, is it better? ...

Project Manager using Project to schedule

What do you like best? This software is visually appealing for high level detail. It is easy to adjust bar colors, bold headings, summarize the overall schedule. What do you dislike? This software is easy to manipulate. You can make your schedule show exactly what you want very easily. Personally, I wouldn't consider this program a CPM tool. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We are working on solving late deliveries and ...

Overpriced Project Manager

What do you like best? I guess the fact that it was microsoft branded was the fact it was easy to bring everyone aboard and get them into the software. It made connecting with other members on a project super easy. What do you dislike? I disliked how every aspect of this software reminded me of Google Drive Recommendations to others considering the product I recommend checking out Trello, Google Drive, and literally any other tool that can connect multiple people. The problem with ...

A comprehensive project management solution

What do you like best? It is highly scalable; anyone from a small company to the largest enterprise can use Microsoft Project. The Scheduling feature is key, allowing managers to define tasks, assign to different team members, and track their progress. We like the new web-based version although we have not yet had the opportunity to fully implement it with mobile devices. The new 2016 version did not require any new training for our users that were used to the 2013 version. Collaborative ...
