Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Loom has completely transformed the way I communicate with my team and clients. Instead of scheduling back-to-back meetings, I can now record concise, engaging video messages that my colleagues can watch on their own time. The ability to share my screen while adding narration and visual cues has been a game changer for clarity and productivity. I particularly ...Read more

Loom pros and cons

  • Loom is widely appreciated for its user-friendly interface that allows professionals to quickly record and share videos without technical barriers. Its Chrome extension, desktop, and mobile apps make screen and camera recording accessible from any device.

  • By enabling asynchronous video messaging, Loom helps organizations reduce the need for lengthy meetings, streamlining communication and boosting productivity across remote and hybrid teams.

  • Users benefit from Loom’s intuitive editor, which allows trimming, stitching, and adding visual elements like arrows, text, and overlays, resulting in more polished and engaging content.

  • The platform enhances engagement with built-in features such as emojis, comments, transcripts, and closed captions in over 50 languages, making global collaboration easier.

  • Since Loom is designed primarily for asynchronous communication, it lacks robust real-time collaboration features compared to platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

  • Free accounts often face restrictions on video length, storage, and advanced features, which may require teams to upgrade for more comprehensive use.

"Great tool for remote work and conveying information"

What do you like best about Loom? That it is easy to use and that it provides the ability to show someone how to complete a task while explaining it and the video can be saved for late. What do you dislike about Loom? Nothing. There truly isn't anything that I would want changed at the moment. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? Because of Loom I don't have to repeat myself multiple times. Instead people can refer back to my Loom videos. It's also allowing me to ...

"Time savor!"

What do you like best about Loom? Loom really helps me cut down on the amount of meetings I need to have because I can quickly start a loom to show someone how to do a task and send it over. And the best part is I can reuse that video so I don't need to keep showing the same process over and over again. What do you dislike about Loom? I don't have any dislikes at the moment, everything is working as it should! Maybe a feature to archive a video after a certain amount of time would be nice? ...

Also, sometimes when I paste the url in emails the GIF doesn't show up and I have to go copy it from the Loom library. What problems is ...

"If a picture is worth a thousand words, a Loom is worth a million!"

What do you like best about Loom? Loom makes it easy to create personalized support videos for out clients where we can show them how to use their account features, troubleshoot issues, run reports, etc - right from their own account. This saves an unbelieveable amount of time because it takes so many more words to explain things. If I used a Loom for this review I would already be done. It's also great that you can use Loom's software to record videos, edit them, and host them all in one ...

"Loom is great to save time internally (just make a video instead of organizing a meeting!)"

What do you like best about Loom? I love the functionality to splice together clips, speed up clips, and auto-add captions. It makes it extremely easy to change the video in post-production to make it exactly how I want it to play. What do you dislike about Loom? I don't like the user interface at times when using the Chrome Extension. It is hard to move around the screen, can glitch and cause me to have to retake the video.
