Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Loom has completely transformed the way I communicate with my team and clients. Instead of scheduling back-to-back meetings, I can now record concise, engaging video messages that my colleagues can watch on their own time. The ability to share my screen while adding narration and visual cues has been a game changer for clarity and productivity. I particularly ...Read more

Loom pros and cons

  • Loom is widely appreciated for its user-friendly interface that allows professionals to quickly record and share videos without technical barriers. Its Chrome extension, desktop, and mobile apps make screen and camera recording accessible from any device.

  • By enabling asynchronous video messaging, Loom helps organizations reduce the need for lengthy meetings, streamlining communication and boosting productivity across remote and hybrid teams.

  • Users benefit from Loom’s intuitive editor, which allows trimming, stitching, and adding visual elements like arrows, text, and overlays, resulting in more polished and engaging content.

  • The platform enhances engagement with built-in features such as emojis, comments, transcripts, and closed captions in over 50 languages, making global collaboration easier.

  • Since Loom is designed primarily for asynchronous communication, it lacks robust real-time collaboration features compared to platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

  • Free accounts often face restrictions on video length, storage, and advanced features, which may require teams to upgrade for more comprehensive use.

"Very helpful!"

What do you like best about Loom? Sharing my screen and discussing the topic at hand is much faster and more helpful than a standard email with bullets or several paragraphs that may not describe things accurately. What do you dislike about Loom? I don't use it enough yet to know all the controls easily. So while it's user friendly it could be slightly more intuitive. Both the recording and editing, but I'm sure once I use it more often it will be very quick. What problems is Loom solving ...

"Loom: The Game-Changer in Video Communication!"

What do you like best about Loom? Since firing up Loom for the first time, it's been a game-changer for me. It's streamlined my sales pitches on LinkedIn, made customer interactions a breeze, and even jazzed up my proposals. The platform's simplicity is top-notch, and folks often ask, "Kevin, how'd you make that video?" or drop a compliment like, "Your videos are spot on!" But here's the kicker: it's not just about slick videos. It's the genuine connections I've made. Loom's brought back ...

"Ultimate Remote Training Tool"

What do you like best about Loom? I can make screen recording videos as if I'm next to my employee showing them step by step on my own computer. It's so easy to create and send. It's also incredible how quickly the videos are reasy for viewing after recordint. What do you dislike about Loom? The multiple ways to record (app, chrome extension, etc.) can be confusing and I'd prefer to just have one avenue that works for all. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? It's ...

"Easy and fun asynchronous communication tool"

What do you like best about Loom? I'm a visual learner and find it easier to show than to tell. It's easy to capture, do basic edits, and share great videos. I also love that my face overlays the video. What do you dislike about Loom? I'd love ways to bluer or pixelate parts of the screen before recording or afterwards. I often resort to screenshots with a different tool when I have sensitive data on the screen. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? Most asynchronous ...

"It's a game-changer for customer support"

What do you like best about Loom? It's so easy to just get started with a demo or download using their Google Chrome extension. I always find myself reaching for it as soon as I realize that writing an email is not going to suffice. It is so powerful when it comes to giving remote support and connecting with my colleagues. Completely in love with the new AI tools for summarizing and ...

"Loom gives me valuable time back in my day, and helps me communicate with customers more effectively"

What do you like best about Loom? I primarily use Loom to create customer-facing videos, outlining tips and best practices with our software. It's great to create bite sized, digestable content that users engage with. Often, I'll begin to write what's going to be a lengthy, detailed email to a customer. Then I remember.. I can communicate this in a quick Loom video, where I actually demo the solution / workflow to the customer! Our customers are more likely to engage with this content, and ...
