Review of Looker Software

What do you like best? Looker keeps me on top of my pipeline and helps understand analytics on a much deeper level than Salesforce. What do you dislike? Extremely complicated to learn how to use. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Understanding pipeline, finding gaps and where to improve, etc.

Love it!

What do you like best? After using a different solution in the past 3 years, switching to looker was a great change. Looker enables me as an analyst much more flexibility in my job such as adding new fields from the data source, where in the past I had to wait for the BI team to do that. What do you dislike? I am missing many visualization options such as placing a filter per tile instead of having all filters at the top (it gets confusing for the end user in case a filter is not ...

Highly Detailed and Customised Reports

What do you like best? It can be customized according to my data needs. I love how much (or less) details you can include in the reports. Scheduled reports make a very convenient way for me to access these data through my email or share them with my team. What do you dislike? Needs a bit of tech know-how to get the customisation you need. Recommendations to others considering the product: Must try. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you ...

Extremely detailed

What do you like best? Looker is extremely comprehensive and as such getting the info I need is not difficult What do you dislike? Because of how comprehensive it is, it is a bit difficult to learn in the beginning. Recommendations to others considering the product: It may be a bit difficult in the beginning but within a week (depending on how often you use it) you will be proficient at it. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? It ...

Makes database query really simple

What do you like best? Looker connects to the database, which makes it valuable when many people need to do queries. Also, the dashboard is really helpful for managers and developers to see critical trends and data. Looker language is super powerful. What do you dislike? Generally there's nothing I dislike. The UI if quite good. Recommendations to others considering the product: Connect it to a database and explore what you can do with it. What problems are you solving with ...

Great for both analyst and non-analyst to use and understand.

What do you like best? The simplicity of learning how to build looks or dashboards. I went from no background in analytics or experience with any BI tool to fulltime data analyst in a year and a half, just from playing around learning looker. The fact that it is simple enough that I could just start tinkering with things and develop my abilities as much as I have by just playing around in Looker speaks to its' simplicity. What do you dislike? The visualization capabilities are already ...

Great for democratizing data and driving insights

What do you like best? I like that I can come in with questions about how my clients are performing and look them up myself. What do you dislike? I think editing dashboard layouts can be annoying and time-consuming. Sometimes all the tiles shift. I also don't like that you have to click on edit to edit one of the tiles. I feel like clicking intuitively makes you think you're editing things. Recommendations to others considering the product: I encourage it. But I think being ...

Powerful tool - could use some updates to make it more intuitive

What do you like best? Ability to turn raw data into powerful reports in minutes What do you dislike? Formatting is rigid, it isn't always clear what is required to present certain visualizations, processing can be slow for large reports. Recommendations to others considering the product: Get some of your sample data into the platform to test how you can build your own reports. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We use Looker ...
