What is GoCardless?
GoCardless is a bank payment platform for collecting recurring payments directly from customers' bank accounts, using Direct Debit, ACH, Bacs, SEPA and open banking rather than card networks. It is built for subscriptions, invoicing, instalments and any business billing the same customers repeatedly, and it handles the mandate setup, collection schedule and reconciliation. Because payments are pulled from the bank rather than a card, failure rates from expiry and chargebacks are lower, and its Success+ retry logic re-attempts failed collections at the times most likely to clear. It connects to accounting and billing tools including Xero, QuickBooks and Zuora, and offers an API for custom billing flows.
