You can't avoid it, I presume

It's ubiquitous and pretty straightforward, but aesthetically unpleasing. It has a lot of integrations and useful features, but once you use it on a client different from its own, you lose most of them.

I just called gmail because I have not …

I just called gmail because I have not been able to log into my email acct. The gentleman(Daniel) I spoke to was extremely difficult to understand due to his thick Indian accent. He told me my email had been compromised. I asked him how and if they could fix that for me. He said yes, but that it would cost me 200-400 dollars to purchase "securities". I said I just wanted to recover my emails and didn't want to purchase anything. He told me in a VERY rude way, that if I did not get one of ...

Gmail is a joke

Gmail is a joke. I called to try and recover a password for an account that is obviously mine and they asked a security question. I answered but they said they cannot verify me. The hell is the point of a security question then? Then the man wanted me to pay 149.99 for one year of technical support to get one friggin password. I said no and he said ok sorry then hung up. Like what? You got me tripping not even a sorry we couldn't help you have a nice day? What kind of customer service is ...

I have been with gmail and google+ for …

I have been with gmail and google+ for many years. I did not write my new password down and cannot access years of contacts, photos and emails. I have my phone number as backup and another email as backup. Google will not let me reset my password despite repeated attempts over the last few months. I just get automated responses and find no number to call. I am closing it down, but can't really do this as well, since I don't have my most recent password change. I do not recommend gmail. I am ...

Gmail freaking sucks

Gmail freaking sucks. I can never find important emails from the past. It costs me so much time trying to find emails that should be so easy to locate. I literally can't find an email that must have had 3 attachments and 4 or 5 replies from 5 months ago. Please fix.

reliable to an extent

reliable to an extent. I have used other email services and in terms of security when you have all the right details you can get in pretty good. But if you forget anything or don't have a way to authenticate yourself. Better kiss your account goodbye

You call this a Spam Filter?

This is about gmail's so-called Spam Filter. Every day I get mailings from sources I wish to see. Examples include Amazon, Bookbub, Indiegogo, Kickstarter, and others. Every day these wind up in Spam. I go to the span directory, select each of these, and click "Not Spam". The next day mailings from these sources will be back in Spam. This even happens with one particular personal email, that I have been exchanging for years. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF A "NOT SPAM" BUTTON IF GMAIL CHOOSES TO ...

Works fine!

It's not perfect, maybe, but I've been using it for some 10 years with little issue. There's a lot of things that easily connect to it, and Google is an all right company. I definitely prefer them to Yahoo or AOL.

Don't RISK email account with NO Customer Service

I have been trying for hours to recover my daughter's gmail account and NOTHING works and there are CRUCIAL emails we have to get to for her college apps. Google obviously does not care to do any customer support. Never using Google again. Yes, I have gone through all the steps. I know the EXACT date she signed up. I know her past 3 passwords. I even know the phone number linked to the account, but I cannot receive text messages because I no longer have that phone number. With all this ...
