Solid Image Editing and You Can't Beat the Price!

What do you like best? GIMP is free, that is a HUGE plus when you're a freelance graphic designer, teacher, or have a lot of computers in use at once. It's also easy to use and there is a large community of users out there with tips and tricks for newbies and experienced users alike. It's also not too taxing on system resources. I have a couple of older laptops that are still good, but not up to running the newest software. What do you dislike? There's not much to dislike, unless you're ...

Highly recommend to anyone wanting to do basic design projects

What do you like best? I absolutely love the price of Gimp. : I've been using Gimp as my preferred photo editing program as well as my preferred design program for materials for events for my fitness group or invitations for my son's birthday for over 5 years. I initially downloaded Gimp to see if I wanted to "move up" to something more expensive, but I've been so happy with Gimp that I just keep it updated. What do you dislike? I've thought about this, and I really don't have any ...

Similar to Photoshop, But Free!

What do you like best? This is Free, Open Source Software! Once upon a time, I learned Photoshop in school. But Photoshop is expensive and changed from version to version. I could barely use the later versions. Gimp is (almost identical to the old Photoshop that I know, and it is free! The tools are intuitive and work as needed. There are a variety of ways of configuring the windows and toolboxes - you can have open as much or as little as you want. Because it is Open Source Software, ...

Waste of time

No wonder the program is for free. It's totally waste of time and a pain in the a** to use. Even such a simple this as adding a text to a picture is a joke.

GIMP: The Alternative to Photoshop

GIMP is a really great alternative to photoshop. It is a great avenue for photo editing, retouching and even creating. It still contains the editing necessities like layers, brushes, filters, etc. I also like that it has a multi-windowed layout which is really cool and new. Its interface is quite innovative but simple to use. And since I am not an expert editor, it really helps. It is also stable in my opinion since I didn't experience it crashing which is good since I don't have to fear ...
