Don't be Fooled by the Gimpy Name of This Photo Editing Software! The Gimp Actually Outshines!
What do you like best? First things first : Gimp is free! Gimp is an open sourced/free photo editing tool that in some technical ways even rises above many others that aren't. It is almost a little gem of photo editing tools that is an undiscovered secret that in some ways is not more well known in the graphics world of computer photo manipulation. What do you dislike? There have been some developers and computer photo manipulators that have complained that Gimp can sometimes be slower ...

GIMP for digital painting
What do you like best? There are several brushes and layer options that allow you to recreate nearly anything you try to make. I have made everything from dragons to mushrooms with this software. What do you dislike? Some effects crash the program. The program should also default to single window mode. Recommendations to others considering the product Give yourself a couple weeks to master the features. Each time you complete a project, search for a tutorial and give yourself 30-60 ...

I Use This Product Daily and Love It!
What do you like best? I like everything about GIMP! The cost... perfect! The ease of use... excellent! Features and functions... amazing! My alternative was to spend hundreds on Photoshop or another expensive product. In my opinion, compared to GIMP and for what I need, it would be silly for me to spend that kind of money on a product that can be replaced by an open-source, free alternative like GIMP. Installation is simple, and I have it on my PC and Macs. The number of plug-ins that can ...

GIMP A great free graphic design software.
What do you like best? Familiar panels for layers, brushes, tools, paths and many others. Individual tabs can be booted (although it requires using a command in the palette menu instead of Adobe's most intuitive action, so you can adjust GIMP UI almost as much as Photoshop can. The Tools menu brings together a mixed bag of the same tools that are in the Toolbox, in addition to some tools that Adobe puts in the Image menu, such as Cut. It also provides a window to some of the very ...

A good alternative to expensive software
What do you like best? GIMP is capable of completing your basic design needs with ease. What do you dislike? It doesn't go to the extent of Photoshop. Definitely a cheaper alternative but don't expect Photoshop. Recommendations to others considering the product Very good if you only need basic design tools. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? GIMP is a cheaper alternative to the expensive creative suite.

Gimp is packed full of features and FREE
What do you like best? The price point of GIMP simply cannot be beat... FREE! I took graphic arts classes in college where I learned to use Adobe products, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. While each of these products is clearly at the top of the line in their class for premium, paid-for software, GIMP has all of the features that I need to design top-quality images and documents and make edits to my pictures as needed. What do you dislike? The layout of GIMP has its own ...

A good, free photo editing program in a pinch.
What do you like best? I like that GIMP is free and close enough to Photoshop to keep things easy for me. I can quickly resize a photograph or logo, add text, do touchups, etc. What do you dislike? I don't like the differences between GIMP and photoshop and the limitations on functions I can execute. Layers, for example, aren't as user-friendly. Recommendations to others considering the product Gimp is good for quick fixes on the go. What business problems are you solving with the ...

The very best (completely) free Open Source image editing software.
What do you like best? I like a good amount of things from GIMP: first, the interface (in single window mode is uncluttered, fully customizable and easy to use. Second, it contains all the standard tools one would expect from a professional image manipulation software. Third, it can import and export from an amazing amount of image formats (both raster and vector, though these are rasterized on import. Fourth, it includes a good amount of filters and image effects which can be greatly ...
