Handles basic image editing well
What do you like best? The thing that jumps out at me is the price and the availability. It's free, but it's easy to learn which is software's real cost. Once you learn it, you have it available on the major desktop platforms where it has the same interface. What do you dislike? While it's good as a Photoshop replacement, it doesn't have all of the advanced features found there. Sometimes there isn't an easy way to do what is easy there. What business problems are you solving with the ...

Great free alternative to Photoshop
What do you like best? The software seems very comprehensive as far as the tools and image manipulation features go. If you're used to working in a package like Photoshop then this would not be much of a transition but at a fraction of the cost. What do you dislike? The learning curve for beginners is pretty steep without much training material available. Simple operations take a long time to do the first time because you have to search online for a "how-to" guide to perform the ...

Epic Free Editing App
What do you like best? GIMP was my first photo editing software ever used! I loved the fact it had so many photoshop abilities, though it was a freeware software. It allowed me to start editing layered photos with ease. The layer options blending modes was the best aspect. What do you dislike? It was free, so I really cannot complain about the software. Recommendations to others considering the product If you cannot afford Photoshop, but want to do similar editing for free, you can with ...

GIMP - An Awesome Open Tool
What do you like best? I love the interface and all the options this program provides. It lets me work on some graphic design work without having a high entry point. This allows me to not only use it for my own work, but to teach others how to complete projects in the program. What do you dislike? I have a hard time using this for more sophisticated work, and have to turn to another program for anything too advanced. This program doesn't necessarily compare well to high end programs like ...

Excellent for the price
What do you like best? The leading FOSS digital imaging software title. Opens PSDs, which is a huge benefit for people who don't have Adobe CC, but need to export delivered files to different formats and sizes, for example. What do you dislike? GIMP is a great example of an open source project with a terrible name that should've been changed years ago. Getting it installed on school machines is an uphill battle, at the administrative level, strictly because of that name. It doesn't signal ...

A Gimp experience
What do you like best? I like that Gimp is open source, free and easy to download. The UI is understandable and easy to work with if you are looking to make some quick editing to a picture you're about to upload on social media or your companies website or whatever other task you have. It has a good learning pattern and many people that want to get into design can start by using Gimp as their first program. Another great thing about gimp is that it can support almost any format you wish. ...
