What do you like best about Epic? I love the personalized dot phrases which allow me to create templates for a variety of patient encounters. This feature allows me to chart my SOAP quickly and thoroughly, so I don't leave anything out. What do you dislike about Epic? The occasional downtime and level of maintenance required. In regards to having Cerner before Epic, it is nice that Epic has everything basically needed for Registration purposes whereas Cerner we needed about 4+ programs open to complete a patient’s registration. What do you like best about Epic? In epic I have access to quick links, which I love! For example,1) the ability to click straight onto a Vaccine Information Shwet and print out to give to the patients family without closing Epic and opening/searching for it on an external site (Cdc.gov), 2) Links to agency policy, instead of opening up and searching on the agency intranet, 3) link to basics (ie., calculator). What do you like best about Epic? It can be used between all services within the healthcare sector-- billing, clinicians, scheduling. Our scheduling department can easily see what the clinic is doing and billing for. Our labs can work easily with us and review orders, along with radiology. Our nurses and physicians can easily communicate with eachother and patients and it helps to ensure that all patient's questions are answered and nobody gets left behind. What do you like best about Epic? I work as an RN in a county hospital where we use Epic Healthlink for charting. I like how convenient and user-friendly it is especially for new grads and students who dont have experience using this software.
