My experience wasnt bad

My experience wasnt bad, I spent some time learning Arabic on the app. They should improve on longer sentences.

Good for exercise, not good for teaching

OK - the good thing is that Duolingo exposes you to a language in easy stages, getting more complicated. (But getting very very slowly more complicated.) After a week you say "Gosh! I can say 'My owl eats mice!' in German" Of course, you will never need to say that, but it's fun. The bad thing is that Duolingo doesn't actually TEACH you anything. You say things, and it marks you right or it marks you wrong. It never explains WHY. Take German, for example. Very often in German, the verb ...
