"Learning French with Duolingo"

What do you like best about Duolingo? It's simple to use, has a game-like interface and is addictive. Especially lingots to take quizzes and track performance. What do you dislike about Duolingo? The vocabulary is a bit redundant. Grammar lessons could included and add to the effectiveness of learning. Recommendations to others considering Duolingo: Lingvist.io is complentary to Duolingo. Gameified vocabulary learning. What problems is Duolingo solving and how is that benefiting you? I've ...

"Good way to learn a new language if you're consistent."

What do you like best about Duolingo? Duolingo is a pretty neat app to learn a new language. It's great that it's a free app as well. The exams are repetitive so it really reinforces the new words and drills it into your head. I really like that there is an audio aspect to this app as well. It's great to be able to hear how the word should be pronounced, especially in languages like Italian where inflection of the word is really important. Along with being able to hear how the ...

"Amazing website to learn languages !"

What do you like best about Duolingo? I'm currently learning Russian through Duolingo, even tough the course is still in a beta state officially, my experience has been really really good so far. The social experience is also really good with reminders and virtual goods. I quite like the fast that you can post on the forum for every single question with just a link on the bottom, this is a feature which is missing most of the time in this kind of tools. What do you dislike about ...

"Free learning and it's FUN!"

What do you like best about Duolingo? Duolingo allows you to learn a language on your own time. It gamifies language learning to make it a fun experience. the adorable mascot doesn't hurt either! It's particularly great if you want to brush up on some basics before going on a trip. It's fantastic for people who have never taken the language at all AND for people try to recapture some of their already-learned albeit buried language skill. Also, when you have a question about something, you ...

"Duolingo is fantastic!"

What do you like best about Duolingo? Each exercise in Duolingo has its own crowd-sourced discussion page to which users and highly skilled, in-house native-speaking administrators respond with nuanced answers regarding the grammar points the question covers. I am finding answers to questions and misunderstandings I've had for years about the French language. I've tried just about every method on the market (Pimsleur, Rosetta Stone, Michel Thomas, Living Language,Berlitz, etc.) I find that ...

"Excellent tool for learning a new language!"

What do you like best about Duolingo? I like that this app is free to use and offers a variety of material for every language. It can be utilized on the user's time, which is very valuable. It also encourages visual learning. The layout, too, is intuitive and natural in progression. What I have found useful the most, though, is the app's ability to teach language as pragmatically as possible; I can actually hold a conversation with a native speaker of the language I am learning. What do you ...
