Duolingo Reviews in June 2026: User Ratings, Pros & Cons

A good use of time

Honestly, I don't really see why people hate it so much. sure the notifications and E-mails are irritating but it essentially has no effect on your ability to learn. However when you're learning a foreign alphabet, it just submerges you in it instead of teaching you. other than that it's pretty much perfect.

In a lot of ways duolingo is a good, if not a bit too repetitive way to learn a language. I have paid so feel I have the right to make these criticisms.One, the constant juggling between the English and the Greek keypads gets very frustrating. One answer in English, followed by an answer in Greek and so on etc etc. Please let us answer four or five in the same language occasionally.Two and even more frustrating.... the bit where I have to tap the correct answer from a choice of four by ...

J’aime Duolingo!

I have been pleasantly surprised by Duolingo; I’m not sure why there are so many bad reviews here. One thing I personally find amusing is all of the bellyaching over the free app not providing you with all of the perks of a paid service. I pay, but started for free and was satisfied with the free version also. It’s one of the best out there. I started paying just because I didn’t want the ads, but I’m so excited about it, that I’d pay for it regardless. If you were to buy the Rosetta Stone ...

Five Stars!

I'm not sure why Duolingo has such a low rating -- I think it's an excellent app and I can't believe it's free. I paid to use Babbel's app and it was no better than Duolingo's. I'm Intermediate, so I do the Stories exercises and have fallen in love with "Junior;" the charming, savvy little boy. The stories are delightful and engaging -- and I learn so much each time I practice.

Mostly a great experience

Mostly a great experience. I'm enjoying learning, can do as much or as little as I want and the range of languages is extensive. They really push the plus account but hide the cost - I have never been able to find out how much it is! A few technical glitches here and there but in the main the app is really good and definitely supports my learning.

I have read all bad reviews. I disagre with them. First it's a great app for me. I still learn alot. If you don't agree you didn't learn nothing. Then you never try the app.If you disagree with subscription price.Thing about this "do you work for free" if not then you agree the prices. If you wish all for free then you agree ads. Ridicule..Après 75 jours de pratique quotidienne de Duolingo en Italien, je me suis surpris à comprendre des annonces de location d'appartements en Italie et des articles sur Wikipédia en italien. La méthode pour moi en tous cas fonctionne bien et pour 99€ pour l'année...Tiens ça nous fait combien de ...
