Confluence review

What do you like best? The extent to which you can make it as complex or as simple as needed. What do you dislike? It is a little cumbersome, visually it just looks too busy and not intuitive. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I use it to share documents, references and calendars with my teams. The biggest benefit is that I can just refer someone to our Confluence page instead of explaining things over and over again.

Great if you make an investment in it

What do you like best? It's very flexible and does a great job making information available. What do you dislike? It takes a lot of configuration and "training" to use it properly. I wasn't involved in that side of it but it was someone's full-time job at my company to get it rolled out. Recommendations to others considering the product Make sure you have a rollout plan and work heavily with all stakeholders for adoption. What business problems are you solving with the product? ...

Great enterprise Wiki product for a reasonable price for small teams

What do you like best? The best part about Confluence is that it just works. Editing pages is straight forward with simple to understand markup. Add-ons for drawing tools can help make diagramming easy. What do you dislike? The cloud product can be slow if not used for a short period of time. Meaning that it seems like they passivate your instance if you haven't used it for a few hours, so every morning when you hit your page it takes a good 10 seconds to load. It's probably just gone ...

A repository for standards, documentation, meetings and processes.

On boarding can be overwhelming, but is a powerful platform for team communication.

What do you like best? I like how customizable it is. It's possible to design the platform to fit your team's needs and specifications. It also definitely helps to have people within your team be the "gurus" of the software to go to for questions. What do you dislike? The onboarding process. Because it is so customizable and complex, learning its capabilities can be overwhelming. It took a few months to get the hang of it, but now I use it everyday to be organized. Recommendations to ...

WIKI for WORK

What do you like best? In the past, I've used MediaWiki for use as an internal knowledgebase / content management system. If you haven't used a wiki for something like this, you should. However, recently looking for solutions are my employer, I found that we had Confluence and other Atlassian products. We had a few employees considering leaving, and there was a large set of institutional knowledge that would have gone with them so I suggested we start using this. The greatest thing ...
