Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Zight (formerly CloudApp) is a screen recording and annotation tool built for remote teams, marketers, and support staff who need to capture and share visuals quickly. The core workflow—record, annotate, generate a shareable link—works across desktop apps and Chrome extensions. Key features include video narration, image annotation, cloud storage, and a free ...Read more

CloudApp pros and cons

  • Creates and shares screenshots, videos, GIFs, and annotated content faster than writing explanations or email threads.

  • Keyboard shortcuts and browser extensions make capture and sharing part of a natural workflow.

  • Captured content uploads to the cloud instantly and generates a shareable link automatically.

  • Gives remote teams a visual way to communicate feedback, troubleshooting steps, and ideas.

  • Uploads sometimes fail mid-recording, resulting in lost content and rework.

  • Slowdowns during uploads, screenshot capture delays, and cross-device sync issues occur periodically.

Excellent tool for customer support

What do you like best? Desktop app is great, and allows you to quickly grab and organise screenshots for use in customer support. Also the ability to edit screenshots with additional arrows, drawings etc. really helps communication. What do you dislike? Sometime it can feel slow and laggy between taking a screenshot and having it save, and screen recordings can take a while. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Using it for ...

The Fastest and Best Way to Screenshot and Record Videos

What do you like best? I love how quick and easy CloudApp is. If I need to do a quick screenshot and annotate or record a video within seconds it's by far the best app. Also, you get a shareable link immediately when it is finished. So easy! What do you dislike? Not really any downsides. I requested the have folders/collections to add videos and screenshots and they came out with it. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I use ...

A "must install" for my laptop and PC

What do you like best? CloudApp makes it easy for me to quickly grab screenshots, annote them and share them with others. I like the fact that CloudApp stores all images in the cloud, and I can refer back to them at any point (unlike my Windows Clipboard, which gets lost when I turn my PC off!) What do you dislike? I'm using a dual-screen monitor, and the interface for recording videos is slightly confusing when used across two screens. Recommendations to others considering ...

Uh ... yeah; never going back to doing screenshots and screencasts the old way again.

What do you like best? The ability to send my clients a link to their unique screenshot or screen cast is a time and game changer. It saves so much time and money, plus the links are always there .... unlike those emails that seems to disappear magically after a week. What do you dislike? Sometimes the UX can be a little off-putting, from computer menu options to in-app UI. Getting much better though. Recommendations to others considering the product: Stop using the old ...

Has made showing steps to a customer or engineer a lot easier!

What do you like best? I used to use Screenpresso for screenshots. I've really found Cloudapp so effective to help explain steps to a customer. I love that I can use my mic to add extra information with the video. Really like the gifs to show short steps. The drag and drop function is super handy in emails and in our Zendesk platform we use too. What do you dislike? If I have browser notifications, my cloudapp can get covered and makes it hard to access. Used to have ...

My go-to app. It's always ready and always making itself better.

What do you like best? It just works. It works for a variety of uses, and in ways I didn't assume I'd use at first. I love being notified when a client has received their upload. I can exhale and know I can go on to the next bit of work. I also greatly appreciate the variety of ways recording and editing videos on the fly. Really solid and fast—just what I need. Nothing more, nothing less. What do you dislike? I didn't like the transition from their old service and new ...

Quick and easy screenshots - from stills to gifs to videos!

What do you like best? Very easy to take quick screenshots, edit, and share them. Love that you can edit after sharing the link and it will update that link live. What do you dislike? Sometimes if you close it accidentally it will take away the quick access menu up top. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Sharing ideas, issues, or explaining things. Saves a lot of time rather than typing out or even finding the screenshot on ...

Simple and easy to use communication tool

What do you like best? CloudApp is a great way to quickly create and annotate, GIFs, screenshots, and other screen recordings with a quick keyboard shortcut. From there it's very easy to share a link to the recording or a copy of the recording itself. As an added benefit, everything is automatically uploaded to the cloud for easy access on the same or another device. What do you dislike? At times, the program can be a little bit buggy. I've occasionally run into issues where the ...

One of my secret weapons

What do you like best? CloudApp has gone through some growing pains to turn into one of my favorite secret weapons. It allows me to refrain from overloading my clients' mailboxes with large attachments and reinforce my branding at the same time. What do you dislike? Because CloudApp is in growth mode, things change frequently and I often follow a link to a different view than I had seen before. The changes are usually great, though they sometimes degrade the experience. What ...

Send Screenshots Fast

What do you like best? What's not to like! This is a great way to keep all your screenshots available in the cloud and be able to access them at anytime and anywhere. Another cool option they offer online is that you can actually search through your screenshots. Lets say you took screen shot of a logo and you can't remember what it was but you remember it was red you can search on the term RED and it will find all the screen shots with this color. Pretty great feature. What do you ...
